Afghanistan

I don't know if this report in todays paper is true, but if it is, the M.O.D. has a lot to answer for. Why are our troops being forced to buy emergency battlefield dressings from the locals, given to them by the US military. Some of them in phone calls home claim to have spent up to £20 each before going to Afghanistan, because they knew they would be short of first-aid supplies. What are the M.O.D. doing. The least our boys deserve are enough medical supplies to do the job. If the Government is cutting corners to save a few pounds, they should be ashamed of themselves. We have had fatalities as a result. I will not go into details here, everybody knows who they are. When our troops are putting their lives on the line, they deserve the best we can give them, no matter the cost.

Well said. I don't know if it's true, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me.
