The BBC has been at it again. After the turkish crime lord was convicted of people trafficking, the BBC described the illegal immigrants as victims of smuggling, they said who could blame them for wanting to come here to escape the poverty back home and to take advantage of our generous welfare system. I cant see how they are victims and as for being poor, how many of us have £13,000 to pay people like the Turkish crime lord. They come here for one reason only and that is to sponge off us, enough is enough.

Illegal immigrants are criminals by definition, where do you think they get 3000 pounds from to pay the smugglers?

We have to close our borders to these people. Rather than ID cards, we should be spending the money on more border patrols. I think that would be a better use of our money.

It is sad in life how many people are less fortunate then others. I dare say there are good and bad characters the world over. Maybe some illegal immigrants genually want to come to Britian to contribute in a positive manor. However the running of a country (any country) should be like the running of a business. It is said that a successful business streamlines (sorry about the buzz word)its resources and put its interests first. Unfortunately Britains goverment (probaly since its creation)has put their individual desires (money and power) before Britains needs. The political left (In todays world I am not sure that people understand the meaning of the traditional left and right)are full of ideas that any successful business would see as financial suicide. The BBC are masters of exploiting sentiment that should have no bearing on sensible business decisions. Britain infrastructure is seriously crippled, the societies moral character questionable, our tactical position poor in short. Our goverments need to be reminded that they are meant to serve the resident population. We should have no illegal immigrants in Britain and legal immigration needs to be curbed to sustainable measures. If we then feel morally justed to help less fortunate people we need to look at the reasons they are poor. In the majority of cases this is due to a corrupt goverment and sometimes it is due to the fact that they are less civilised and are playing catch up with more technically advanced countries. Massive aid would then need to be given to these countries building up their infrastructure and possibly forcing a regime change.

rap of the fo..

Great post, but it just leaves the parasites with an excuse to come here.

I mean, I don't have a right to move into Buck Pal...and I accept that...if I can accept my lot, why can't they (ie, immigrants) accept theirs?
